20 Things We’ve Learned In 2020

What. A. Year. Looking back over the past 365 is a bit of a trip…especially since it’s felt like ten years in one. Remember when we thought the Australian bushfires would be the defining event of 2020? HAH! We didn’t even know what was coming, but we’re here now and it’s an understatement to say that we’ve all grown in ways we never thought possible this year.

Firstly, we want to take a moment to thank you – all of you lovely Anjéls, our supporters and subscribers, have made this wild year a bit more bearable. Between introducing new styles (including a new loungewear collection!) and staying on our toes like many other small businesses, you’ve played an integral role in all of our successes!

Now, usually this week is all about prepping and primping for a NYE bash, but instead of gearing you up for an uproarious party, we wanted to reflect on some of the many things we learned in 2020....enjoy!

  1. The world of big cats is oddly fascinating

  2. Loungewear can be professional

  3. Applause that used to be reserved for live events is sometimes best given to healthcare workers instead

  4. You don’t need to go to the gym for a good workout!

  5. Despite the necessity for social distancing, humans are social creatures and will go to great lengths to stay connected (Zoom happy hours, Netflix Party, the list goes on)

  6. Taking measures to protect our financial health shouldn’t be far behind protecting our physical and mental health

  7. Essential workers are the true heroes of our society

  8. Supporting Black owned brands is just one way of ensuring that Black lives matter

  9. Remote working is more than possible

  10. Wearing a mask is a sign of respect

  11. Prioritizing our down time is just as important as optimizing our productivity

  12. We’ve neglected the great outdoors in years past

  13. No one has a monopoly on truth…except for science

  14. Zoom fatigue is a real thing, but virtual events can be pretty clever!

  15. Struggles are only seasons, they’ll pass no matter how permanent they feel

  16. Podcasts are the new blogs!

  17. You don’t always have to travel far for the adventure of a lifetime

  18. The stock market is not always an accurate reflection of the current state of the economy

  19. We’re more resourceful than we think
  1. 2020 was the year we thought we’d get everything we wanted, but it was actually the year we started to appreciate everything we have
