Best Brooklyn Breakfasts

Well hello there June!! Contrary to what the dismal MDW weather wanted us to think, we have officially entered into the unofficial start of summer! And with vaccines all rolling out and NYC fully opening in just a month, there’s tons to look forward to this summer! But aside from everything else on your bucket list, there’s one activity that’s a given. The most important meal of the day - BREAKFAST (or brunch, depending on what time you woke up…) So to help you plan your city excursions and ensure you’re well nourished, we took it upon ourselves to try out a few Brooklyn breakfast spots. Yes, we have personally eaten at every single one of these restaurants and curated this list just for you! Enjoy, and don’t forget to dab the drool dribbling out of your mouth every few minutes 😉.

1. Bread and Spread - Dumbo
This hole in the wall place arguably makes the best sausage egg and cheese sandwich in all of NYC. With chipotle mayo and ciabatta bread, it’s one you need to eat in silence because it’s that good. Bread and Spread isn’t a sit down restaurant, it’s much more of a grab and go situation. We suggest getting your grub, and then making your way down to the Dumbo waterfront to devour it.

Recommended look: keep it super casual with our Anjé Golden Lotus Crop Tee and Anjé Golden Lotus Lounge Shorts

2. A Novel Kitchen - Cobble Hill
You could easily spend an entire morning and afternoon here. Between the mellow jazz music playing and the endless amount of books to read and records to explore, A Novel Kitchen is truly a Brooklyn gem! When you go, get a vanilla latte and some truffle fries with garlic aioli (don’t worry, fries are totally a breakfast food…)

Recommended look: you’re going to want something cozy yet hip. Go with our Silk Tee and Slouchy Silk Pants

3. Allswell - Williamsburg
The old time setting of this gastro pub is only one piece of it’s charm. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner here would all seriously be delicious, but their constantly changing brunch menu is just irresistible. In NYC you expect to pay an inflated price for any kind of food, but there are only so many restaurants where it’s worth it. Allswell is one of them, no doubt.

Recommended look: The Essential Dress, but with sneakers. A true Brooklyn vibe.

4. Butler - Dumbo
Butler is one of those bougie cafes nestled in one the many artsy streets of Dumbo. But it’s absolutely worth the hype! Born out of the culinary graces of Michelin-starred pastry chef, Ryan Butler, this shop is a dreamy place to spend the morning catching up with a friend...and snapping pics of your surroundings. Come here if you need a little something to hold you over for the morning while you bask in the beauty!

Recommended look: Fiorella Midi Skirt with our patterned Silk Tee. Feminine and fun will fit right in here!

5. Cafe Colette - Williamsburg
This is a staple in the Williamsburg brunch roster. The ambience is off the charts and the food follows suit. Whether you’re in the mood for scones and tea or a full blown breakfast, Cafe Colette won’t disappoint. Pro tip - it’s also an enchanting nighttime coffee or drink spot!

Recommended look: The Shirt Dress. Minimal, classy, and chic, just like this cafe.
