Kicking Off Women’s History Month

March is wonderful month. The days become longer, and we start to taste the sweetness of summer on its way. St. Patrick’s Day is always a blast. And if you’re a basketball fan, there’s March Madness to look forward to. But the best thing about March by far, is that it’s Women’s History Month! That’s right, a whole month dedicated to celebrating our womanhood (even more than we already do, of course) and appreciating the women who have laid the foundation for us to do so! With International Women’s Day approaching this Sunday, March 8th, you may be wondering how you can participate in all the girlboss fun and games. Here are a few ways you can make the most of this female fueled month!


1. Immerse yourself in women’s activism
Last Friday, the New York Historical Society Museum opened its latest exhibition, Women’s March, commemorating the centennial of the 19th amendment. Can you believe that women gained the right to vote 100 years ago now? That’s certainly celebration worthy! Discover the journey that our ancestors endured to gain this right, along with two centuries worth of women’s activism at this exhibition!

2. Support women run / missioned businesses
As a consumer these days, there are an endless amount of choices to make. We’re constantly bombarded with the latest and greatest. This month, why not make the conscious decision to try out products and services from women run and women missioned companies? Some of our favorites include:

As ambitious women always on the go, it’s easy for us to put our preventative health measures on the back burner. But in order for us to keep making great strides, we have to make sure we’re doing all we can to take care of our physical and mental health!

    4. Join a professional women’s organization
    Although there’s a lot more progress to be made for women in the workplace, there are so many groups that have emerged to facilitate this progress. Woven, Chief, and Girl Develop It are just a few. Find a group in your area and start surrounding yourself with striving, like-minded ladies!



    5. Reach out to a woman who’s inspired you

    It can be a celebrity or world-renowned thought leader, or it can be a member of your own family. Whoever it is, let this woman know that she’s inspired you. The more we lift each other up, the more we can keep the empowerment moving!
